Don’t get me wrong, I’m not advocating skeletal young girls starving themselves to be the next supermodels. I’m talking about yarn (what else?)! I really enjoyed knitting my newest cardigan but it was a bit strange to be back working with thicker yarn. I do like knitting with thinner yarn and needles. This ball of loveliness just happened to jump into my arms when I was in a wool shop, helping a friend to pick out some yarn! Then it sat in my stash for ages awaiting inspiration. One ball didn’t actually seem like a lot. Of course spending a few hours trawling a quick visit to Ravelry soon had me picking up my needles! The pattern is Teardrops by Kieran Foley.
The thinner the better!

It’s beautiful! Fingering and lace are my favorite weights to work with. I just love tiny yarn and tiny needles and the results are always worth it.

Thanks. There are a couple of unusual symbols but once you get going (and don’t try and talk at the same time!) it’s a very nice pattern to knit.

You are so patient. I believe you’re the first knitter who favors thin yarn over thicker one. This project came out wonderfully. The lace is so pretty.

Thank you! I enjoy the process of knitting so using thick yarn to get something finished quickly is not a must for me.

I’m with you on the thin yarn! I have 2 projects going right now — socks on size 0 and a hat on size 11! The contrast is amazing.

Wow that is really the two extremes of knitting! But there’s a time and place for everything so enjoy!
